cumin potatoes

I really recommend trying this very tasty and easy to prepare recipe. It’s very popular in India and especially so with kids. I made it recently when we had a few college students over for dinner and they simply loved it. I’ll get straight into it.

Ingredients (serves 2):
• 4-5 medium Potatoes: Boiled, peeled and chopped
• 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
• 1-2 Thai Green chili – chopped
• ½ teaspoon Turmeric
• ½ teaspoon Red ground pepper/ paprika (optional)
• ¼ cup chopped Coriander leaves/ Cilantro
• Salt to taste

Boil and peel the potatoes. Gently chop them into about ½ inch cubes. Now heat a tablespoon of oil in a pan. Add the cumin seeds and stir. Add the turmeric and the green chili. Add the potatoes and salt and cook for about 2-3 minutes. Add the red paprika if you want it more hot.

Take it out into a bowl and sprinkle chopped cilantro and serve. You can eat this with any Indian bread or make a sandwich with whole wheat bread. I like it at any time with any bread!
