Okay, this is not local to EP, but close enough in Boulder to warrant discussing: LEAF. This is a fabulous vegetarian/vegan restaurant on Pearl Street. They also own the latin restaurant Aja attached to it 16th and pearl, so if you have a meat lover with you, they can order off one menu and you can order from the Leaf menu! Unfortunately, the night we went, the latin restaurant was closed for a private Christmas party, so my meat-eating husband was forced to eat "healthy"! I think he actually liked what he had though he would never admit it, an egg and "sausage (spicy seitan)" sandwich on Croissant with avacado and tomatoes and veganaise, with a side of homemade fries. If you go during happy hour, they have small menus with "sample" size portions, which were just perfect for me. I had the raw butternut squash and beet "ravioli" and the Autumn salad, both 4.50 each and absolutely fabulous!! We shared a dessert, a chocolate peanut butter tart made with silken tofu, which was so incredible! I highly recommend this restaurant, they also had an extensive beverage menu, and the atmosphere was wonderful. While in the restroom, I met a nice lady who informed me she was part of a Boulder vegan group (even though she lives in Lyons) that get together for dinners, cooking, sharing ideas, etc. Wish we had something like that in Estes Park!! I guess I don't know enough vegans in EP to put one together, so if you are one, and interested, let me know!
