Yam soup

Yams, onions, bursting seasonings and kale is my favorite foods. Put them all together with lentils and a little brown or black rice and you have an amazing creative stew........

Here is the ingredients. Just throw them altogether in a hearty pot and simmer for fifteen to twenty minutes and just let it stand covered while the kale is steaming in the heat of the stew. So, hold the kale back after you separate the stems and mix the leaves in the stew, turn the heat off and allow the kale to steam.........

1 Yellow onion, diced
...
2 Cloves garlic, crushed
1 1/2 tablespoon Ginger, minced
2 pounds Yams (about two large), chopped into 1 inch chunks (or a little larger)
1/2 cup Dry red lentils, rinsed and drained
1/2 cup of black forbidden organic rice )if you can't find it use short grain brown rice)
3 Ripe vine tomatoes, peeled and chopped
1 teaspoon Cinnamon, ground
2 teaspoons Cumin, ground
1/2 teaspoon Turmeric, ground
dash of Cayenne pepper (to taste)
1/2 teaspoon Himalayan salt (or to taste)
1/4 cup Green onion, tops only, chopped

Serve with some fresh lemon, a little chopped parsley on top and half an avocado.........You can also sprinkle some fresh dry roasted sunflower seeds, peanuts or pumpkin seeds on top.....
